I was perched, and rather precariously so, atop Signal Hill when I captured the photograph that inspired this work. Fort Amherst sits on one side of The Narrows of St. John’s Harbour and I was on the higher hill on the other side. My legs were seriously shaking but for the sake of art…I captured the prize. Enjoy, take some risks of your own and keep making art!

St. John’s City Has Been Sold
I am over the moon!! The work has arrived safely and has found a new home in Upper Canada. The owner is thrilled with the work and I am very happy to know that it now is making another family who is far from home feel just a little closer to the land they love. Enjoy and keep making art!!
St. John’s City

The city where I was born, lived for 23 years and now have returned to…for good I hope! This covers some of the central areas of the city such as the narrows, the battery, Fort Amherst, Water Street, the Basilica, and Quidi Vidi. In Newfoundland we have interesting names for different aspects of the city and these are only a few of the names used.

Watercolorist Singing Oh Canada at the Schonbrunn Palace
Well, that was a surreal expereince!! Singing Oh Canada in another country on Canada Day made me feel very proud and very patriotic. We also sang the Ode to Newfoundland from my province of heritage! It was lovely. Spent the rest of the day at the museums again and rested up for the long trip back to Canada tomorrow! Keep making music and keep making art!
