Watercolourist Heading to Europe

Standard

Yes…I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going with my sisters to sing in a choir called the Holy Heart Of Mary Alumni Choir based in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Am hopeful I can sing as have been struggling with my allergies and my voice has not been amused, to say the least.  I’ll be over the Atlantic ocean as you read this (in first class seating !!!!) and getting ready for the first stop on our tour (Munich).  From there we are heading to Italia to the Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival and then onward from there we head to Austria and will be singing at the palace in Vienna on Canada Day.  So my friends, I have done as I have in the past and prepared some scheduled posts to keep up with the post a day commitment but also will be posting as I can on the road.  I am hopeful that I can post as I go after each day’s festivities.  I hope you enjoy the posts!  Have a wonderful June and I’ll be back in July!!  I’m sure to have loads of things to post about for the rest of the summer after this experience (I am so excited about the art galleries too!!!!), in the interim, get ready to make music and keep making art!

As you will have gathered by now, these are details of a work entitles “The Big Pink”.  It is an acrylic work on canvas and is 48 x 60 in size.  The work is unfinished at the moment as I became stuck with how to balance it all out for the completion.  I have a plan and am preparing to put it into action so I am hopeful that in the next few weeks/months I will be showing you ” The Big Pink”.  I visited Berlin in May of 2011 and spent a lot of time in the galleries there.  A work by Laszlo Moholy-Nahy (1895-1946) titled Komposition Z VIII, 1924, found in the Berlin Neue Nationalgalerie had me returning over and over again. The Big Pink was inspired by this work by Moholy-Nahy.  Enjoy the details, pay attention to the works that draw you back to them and keep making art.
