I love these Christmas flowers. When I was growing up my mother always managed to keep them around for long after the Christmas decorations had be stored. This year, I have managed to do the same, with the help of my husband who has lovingly nursed them while I have been working some long hours. I hope you enjoy this February flower and perhaps you can think of something that you would like to nuture along, long after it’s usual season is long completed. Keep making art!

Missing Stella
I have a wonderful and life long friend named Stella who lives an ocean away from me. I miss her dearly and think of her often. I also love the work of Frank Stella and somehow each time I see his work with its vibrant energy, I think of my friend Stella and the friendship that has lasted and will continue to last a lifetime. To all of my friends here on wordpress and around this big wide world of ours, you mean so much to me. Thank you for hanging on for these two years I’ve been blogging and as always, keep making art…whatever your art may be!!

Colour Guitar
Christmas is all about music and both of my kids are very into their music…as am I! This guitar was inspired by the musical enthusiasm of a friend as well as the musical enthusiasm of my children. I also saw a guitar something like this in a magazine at a music store!! Enjoy, tune in to your inner musician and keep making art!!
Cape Spear PINK!
It’s been a long time and many things have happened between my last post in June and now, far too much to get into here. While I have been doing all those other things though, I kept making art, although a little less often and a little slower than usual for me. Over the coming few days and weeks, I will be posting some of that art, mostly done in markers as they are portable and I was able to take them wherever I happened to be. I hope you are all well and still blogging your hearts out ( I have been reading, liking!). I look forward to visiting your blogs a little more regularly and hope that you will come to visit me as well now that you know I have not dropped off the face of the earth (ha!). This piece is based on a photograph I took while tromping around Cape Spear in my beloved Newfoundland. As you can see, I have injected some colours that are not actually on this old lighthouse but boy would I have fun painting it pink!! Enjoy and keep making art!!
Watercolourist is moving again!!!
Hi folks, this is my first blog including text only. Just wanted to let you know that I am still around and still reading blogs but I am moving at the moment and have been extremely busy with the move and finishing up at work before I go on vacation. Hopefully, I can start blogging and making art again as soon as possible as I am certainly feeling the fact that I haven’t put brush to paper or canvas for almost a month!!! Unheard of in the past three years and becoming intolerable!! I am admiring the art around me daily, from the art I find in the natrual environment to the clothing people wear to all of your fabulous blogs!! Wish me luck in getting back to the studio (or some semblance of a studio) very soon! All the best and keep making art!!! Blog on my friends, Lorelei x
Generations: A Special Moment
Recently I attended the wedding of my neice. I managed to catch this shot later in the evening and thought it very relaxed and fitting that grandmother and granddaughter should share a special moment in time together on such a beautiful day. Enjoy, cherish your special moments with the generations before you and keep making art!

Rose Yellow and Blue
My apologies for the quality of the last two photos…must have been tired when I took those but as I have said many times before, I am an artist, not a photographer. I hope you can endeavor to enjoy regardless!
