  1. My dad, a wonderful artist and art teacher, has inspired many by telling them in no uncertain terms ‘there is no such thing as drawing, only mark making’ i think it frees us up to explore our expression rather than TRY and draw something….. I love your marks x

    • Thanks. Your Dad certainly had it right and I’m sure he has many successful art students as a result. Were you one of his students? I loved your marks when I had a visit at your online exhibition. That’s what really drew me in and captivated me. I really try to just go with the marks and trust my eye…I rarely, if ever, erase. Free expression is what is has to be about. I worked with a fantastic artist who taught at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, but then luckily moved to New Brusnwick. Her name is Jean Rooney, when you see her work you’ll see how she influenced my mark making! Thanks so much for your comments and I look forward to seeing more of your work soon! All the best, Lorelei

      • I have been a student of dads for about 41 years! I avoid his critique though…just do my own thing….. 🙂 I will check out Jean Rooney’s work. just keep painting just keep painting haha like in finding nemo…. (oh I am a tired mother of eight!)

      • yes there is that but she also has a website. It’s likley listed as a link on her FAcebook page. You should still be able to see some of her work there as well though.

Your thoughts are so exhilarating..tell me more
